2014 Cannondale Trail SL 29er SS

Ahhh, the rigid singlespeed. Simple. Classic. Fun. Cannondale's Trail SL 29er SS keeps it pure with large-diameter, thin-wall aluminum frame tubes that maximize stiffness and minimize weight so you can climb quickly and easily. The 1.5-inch head tube houses a rigid fork so you actually "feel" the trail underneath you, and inputs from you translate directly to pinning your line. Any line you choose, you rip over everything in your path thanks to the 29-inch Stan's wheels wrapped with XC-favorite Schwalbe tires. And slowing down is simple with Cannondale discs providing serious stopping power and pinpoint control.

        Comments:

Took the plunge and went to the single speed. Chris was great to deal with and once i took it for a spin outside the shop, i was sold. This setup forces you to anticipate a little more on the trail, and gain your speed where you can. There's some grunt involved in single speed, but what an awesome workout. I have no trouble on the trails even without speeds. Great quality build! Invest in some padded gloves for the rigid fork ride - but with it comes 100% power. No loss to the suspension fork!
